Description | In the presented paper we try to explain the labor market position of low-skilled people in the Czech Republic in comparison to the EU states. We point out the interconnection between low-skilled characteristics and their behavior (low adaptability and flexibility, insufficient knowledge and skills not corresponding to the contemporary knowledge-societies requests, low motivation in labor market participation) and employer labor force requirements (selection of more favorable and low expensive applicants during hiring and additional training process). This study also shows on labor market policy and public policy influence of this problem and emphasizes importance of long-term human capital reinforcing of all labor market participants (especially low-educated applicants). |
