| Description | Creation of thematic atlases is nowadays more and more transfered from paper environment into digital one, especially Internet became medium for contemporary cartographic publishing.Internet technologies offer many new abilities, which not only enable smart map based atlases,they even dramatically changing conception of atlas design. From this point of view key word of our project is open. Under open atlas we understand live structure which allow continual insertion and update of the thematic content by appointed responsible institutions. The role of cartographers in such structure is to create appropriate cartographic framework which ensure positionaland visual consistency of the atlas. Framework will composed from several parts which alloweasy and proper publishing of thematic data. |
