Description Atomic spectrometry belongs to the most employed technique in environmental inorganic elemental analysis. Nowadays, rather various chemical forms of elements in the environment are in the focus of enironmental chemists than simple total elemental concentration. For this purpose, atomic spectrometriy techniques (ICP-MS, ICP-OES, AAS) are coupled to various speration techniques (HPLC, GC, CZE)and serve as a powerful tool for speciation analysis. Overview of present state is given and examples of hyphenated techniques and their applications are discussed.
