Description | According to the results of existing research in the field of gender studies, it is clear that it is not exclusively biological sex that influences gender. On the contrary, the creation of levels of traditionally perceived masculinity and femininity are influenced by a range of other factors. The ways in which masculinity and femininity are influenced by the sibling constellation are investigated in the present research. Several hundred respondents (students of high schools and universities) answered the questionnaire. The authors attempted to determine whether the younger sister of an older brother is perceived as more feminine than the older sister of a younger brother, etc. Some of the results of this initial research are presented in this paper. |
