Description | Reproducibility of the relationship between carotid intima-media thickness(IMT) and baroreflex sensitivity (BRS) was studied in normotensives and hypertensives with respect to the signs of tonic and reflex autonomic control of the heart and blood pressure (BP). We studied 25 treated hypertensives and 15 healthy controls twice in period of one year. Conclusion: A decrease of BP, a decrease of short-term blood-pressure variability, and shift of the power in the spectra of SBP in the range of 0.1 Hz could be regarged as a positive effect of the therapy. |
