Description | The French communist party was one of the most important communist parties in Western Europe especially in terms of number of members but also in terms of electoral results or in terms of the place of communism in the public debate. Since at least two decades, this party is seen to be in a deep crisis and is often considered to be dying. In this article, we will focus on the reasons of crisis but also try to show, that the notion of crisis is very relative because of the capacity of the party to preserve some relevant political influence and to explain how the party is trying to overcome this crisis in a way that weaken the traditional communist group and identity. |
