• Description: The 19th conference INFORMATICS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, ENVIROINFO 2005 was organised by the Masaryk University with the cooperation of the Unit ICT for the Environment of the Directorate-General Information Society and Media of the European Commission, the European Environment Agency and the Technical Committee (TC) 4.6.1 Computer Science in Environmental Protection of the German Computer Society. It has the leitmotif NETWORKING ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION. Based on the broad field of environmental informatics the division of the proceedings into two volumes was issued from four main topics of conference: ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS ENGINEERING; MODELLING, SIMULATION AND COMPUTING; GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS; and KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
