Description | Silvers ions come to the environment, first of all, from industry. The highest amounts of silver and, therefore, highest amounts of waste are produced by photographical industry (more than 40 % from worldwide production). It is a common knowledge that silvers ions belongs to one of the most toxic elements causing acute toxicity of organisms including aquatic. A quantification of silvers ions in water is very difficult because there are formed numbers of silvers complexes with inorganic and organic compounds. But carbon electrodes could be used to construct a sensor monitoring of silver ions concentration in water. In this work we used high performance liquid chromatography coupled with amperometric detector Coulochem III for studying of influence of different cations and anions on determination of silver ions in the presence of ACS water. We found out that the presence of others ions do not influence the determination of silver ions (up to 5 % of silver peak height). Moreover we applied the technique to study of content of silver ions in different water samples (from polluted to ACS purity). |
