Description The aim of the thesis is to describe and analyze the movements of the capital during the transformation in the Czechoslovakia and the Czech republic in the period 1990–2005, and to identify the impact of the capital movements on the competitiveness of Czech economy. First it focuses on foreign direct investment and their impact on competitiveness. It describes the inflows and outflows during the transformation and their reasons. Then it shows capital movements of the portfolio investment, short-term investment and long-term investment and their trends and influence on the competitiveness.
