Keywords Volume of bodies; the rule of Simpson; definite integral.
Description The article is aimed at the theory of teaching of Mathematics at secondary schools and universities. It contains possible use of Simpson s rule for counting of volumes of bodies of rotation. The simplest form of Simpson s rule is possible to be expressed by a formula V = (S1 + 4S + S2), where v is the altitude of the body, S1, S2 are areas of two surfaces and S is the area of the central section. The article contains the derivation of the formula and its usage in specifying of expressions for volumes of some bodies of rotation.
