| Description | One of the crucial topics in the period of adolescence is, apart from the search for one's own identity, getting the first experiences in making close emotional relations with individuals of the opposite sex. Conceptions and experiences with early romantic relationships at the beginning of adolescence are characterized namely by wide variability. Adolescents differ from each other in the following areas: their conceptions about their future romantic relationships, the age in which they get first experiences with this type of relationship, the form of this relationship, and its length. Using data from interviews with 13-years- old children (longitudinal study ELSPAC), we examine respondent's reports of nature of their romantic experiences and meanings of the term “romantic relationship”. |
