Description European transport policy is a tool for changing the current configuration of transport market in the European Union. Its main aim is to achieve a long term sustainability by weakening the dominance of road transport and strengthening the importance of more environmentally friendly modes of transport such as railway, inland waterway and sea transport. The paper introduces possible critical approaches to this document with special focus on possible spatial consequences.
