Description | The geometric morphometric approach has yielded large-ranged potentials when applied in various biological disciplines. This paper provides an insight into two morphometric approaches, Conventional Fourier Analysis and Elliptic Fourier Analysis; it outlines their basics and demonstrates their legitimacy and applicability in the field of forensic anthropology (the shape analysis of the acetabular rim, the quantification of the cranial distortion in the photography, testing flatbed scanner usefulness for capturing shape of metacarpals). |
