| Description | ISO 19115 standardizes the description of spatial data. Nowadays it substitutes local metadata standards, especially FGDC (USA), ANZLIC (Australia) and CEN (EU). Hence, almost all software developers are implementing this standard into their appliactions to ensure semantic interoperability. According to above mentioned, this standard has been declared as the Czech national metadata standard. This paper also focuses on possibilities of standard extensions for various appliactions. Further step of the research has been the definition of service metadata, that is a supplement to metada of spatial data. |
