Description | A total of 238 small rodents of 4 species were trapped in three localities in eastern part of the Czech Republic and examined for the presence of antibodies (IgG) to Borrelia afzelii. For this purpose modified indirect ELISA method was used. Antibodies were detected in only one species - Apodemus flavicollis (yellow-necked mouse) which also prevailed between trapped rodent species. Significant differences between localities were found. It could be caused by various distribution of infected ticks or by different ammount of trapped rodents in each locality. |
