Description | The aim of the work was to evaluate the effect of intact and photomodified fluoranthene (FLT, phFLT; 0.1, 1 and 10 mg/L) on chlorophyll fluorescence parameters (F0, FV/FV, qN and PhiII) in separated leaves of pea plant. Results demonstrated that during the short-time exposure period (12, 24 and 48 h) of simulated foliar uptake of the contaminants primary processes of photosynthesis were affected by the presence of FLT and especially phFLT. Values of F0 and qN increased, FV/FM and PhiII decreased significantly especially when exposed to FLT and phFLT 10 mg/L. When applied on separated leaves, both forms of FLT affected the photosyntesis more rapidly and notably compared to uptake from nutrient solution via roots. |
