| Description | In theoretical context of Problem Behaviour Theory formulated by R. Jessor, set of hypothesis about relationships between distinct aspects of problem behaviour syndrome and experienced social support from friends and parents and amount of friends problem behaviour was tested. Using a sample of 473 Czech adolescents, this study proves that social support from parents function of social support from parents as weak but consistent protective factor. Friends problem behaviour is a moderate risk factor. Social support from friends is ambiguous; it works as protective factor in case of aggressive behaviour, but as risk factor in case of school problems, authority avoidance and addictive substances abuse. Interaction effect of friends social support and friends problem behaviour is evident especially on addictive substances abuse, vandalism and aggressive behaviour. The results challenge the conception of problem behaviour as consistent syndrome and suggest a necessity of research on importance of particular forms of problem behaviour in socialization through adolescence. |
