| Description | In the years 2000-2005 a collection of mosquito larvae was made in two localities in the Czech Republic. Presence of spirochetes and pathogennic Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato was found in them subsequently. The results were compared with similiras study made in Poland. Detection was practised using DFM and identification of pathogennic borreliae by PCR methods. In Poland they used IFA method for the detection of borreliae. In examined larvae we found big amount of spirochetes, but the presence of borreliae was poor. To the future we want to determine, which other spirochetal species occur in mosquito larvae. |
