| Description | The paper evaluates the potential of the Czech criminal law to penalize verbal or visual support of terrorist activities. Such activities are defined and then they are analyzed in the contexts of various paragraphs of the Czech Penal code. The author comes to conclusion that most useful are paragraphs § 198a (defamation of a nation, ethnic group, race or religious belief), § 261(support and propaganda of movements suppressing human rights and freedoms) and § 95 (terrorist attack). On the other hand, the respect to the freedom of speech should always be an important part of discussions about criminalizing of all verbal and visual activities with relations to terrorism |
