Description | Metallothionein (MT) belongs to group of intracellular, low-molecular and cysteine-rich proteins with molecular weight from 6 to 10 kDa. Owing to high affinity to heavy metals (Zn, Cd, As, etc.) their main role is homeostatic control and detoxification of metals ion in an organism. In the present work we aimed on suggesting and utilizing of the suggested analytical techniques to determine content of MT in blood serum of various species of birds. The blood serum of birds (n = 10) of pheasant, quail, partridge, domestic fowl, guinea fowl or turkey species were carefully collected from wild and healthy individuals without harming of them. |
