Description The paper introduces a large workshop for polished artefacts (battleaxes) from Holasovice, district of Opava. About 120 typologically similar pieces was obtained during excavations in 1959 and they are deposited in the Silesian museum in Opava now. The prevalent raw material form siltstones to graywackes of Culmian age. Their petrographic research was done using steromicroscope, study of thin sections and measurement of magnetic susceptibility. We suppose the raw material source in the close SW and W surroundings of Holasovice (the Nízký Jeseník Upland).
