Description | The north-east Asian fish species Perccottus glenii appeared in the Baltic Sea drainage in the early 1990s and established several subpopulations in the Vistula River basin. In this study, adult specimens of P. glenii collected in Włocławski reservoir were examined for metazoan parasites.Seven parasite species were found to parasitize P. glenii, as two species monogenean Gyrodactylus perccotti and cestode Nippotaenia mogurndae (syn. Amurotaenia perccotti) represent parasites native and specific for P. glenii. These two species were also the most prevalent and abundant parasites in the community. |
