| Description | The paper first gives a general introduction into the area of youth delinquency and then focuses mainly on the most important tool of formal social control in the area of delinquency, which is criminal law. The paper points out that some groups of people in society create law and there are some groups of people in society on which law is applied on. This reminds sociological legal concept of creating norms (H.S. Becker). The paper then looks at the explanation of possible changes of behaviour of an individual reflecting the delinquent act of an individual by A. K. Cohen. In the end the paper deals with the role of law in contemporary society, in which law becomes the third important normative system, on which a society can be integrated. |
