Description The paper reports on the application of Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometry (LIBS) for analysis of toxic element in biological material and the observation of spatial distribution of lead in leaf sample of Zea mays. The plasma was obtained by the focusing of a Nd:YAG laser on a sample surface at the second harmonic frequency. All measurement was made by using analytical line Pb (I) 283.31 nm. The results of LIBS measurement are comparable with Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS).
