Description | The hip joint is one of the most important joints of the human body. The question of assymetry of this joint is often discussed. For this reason, we decided to thouroughly examine and compare bilateral values of severalless welt-known measurements of the acetabulum and proxímal femur. We had the opportunity to examine 70 femurs and 56 hip bones. For measuring we used caltipers, a modified tape measure, an orthopedíc protractor and an anthropometer. All measurements were measured by the sama person. All measurements were evaluated by variational statistical methods and incorporated into concise tables. Paired t-tests demonstrated significantly higher values of the head index as welt as higher parameters of the cervical index in the left femur in comparison with the right. For the right híp bona, the paired t-test showed significantly higher values for the following parameters: acetabular height, acetabular width; posterior corner of the acetabulum, acetabular index and hip bona robusticity. For the left hip bona, significantly higher values were seen for the parameters: anterior corner of the acetabulum, upper and lower acetabular notch, and height of the híp bone. |
