Description | The mycoflora of quinoa seeds was determined by using two methods of surface-treatment of seed and two culture media. Fusarium spp., Ascochyta sp. and Alternaria spp. were isolated from seeds originating in the Czech Republic, while Ascochyta sp. and Alternaria spp. were isolated from seeds of Peruvian origin. Alternaria spp. were isolated from all tested variants of seeds except Chenopodium album. The most frequently identified Fusarium sp. was Fusarium avenaceum. The Ascochyta sp. isolated from seeds of Czech origin is a different species than the Ascochyta sp. isolated from seeds from Peru, and was determined as Ascochyta caulina. This is the first report of the occurrence of A. caulina in the Czech Republic. |
