| Description | The name of the work is The Role and Aims of Probation and Mediation Service. This institute is quite new in the Czech Republic and its use acquire on importance as well as the importance of the principle of restorative justice, from which these alternative ways in criminal law appear. Probation ad mediation service was implemented to Czech legal regulation by act number 257/2000 Collection, but in the world these activities have had tradition for many decades of years. I have proceeded in my writing from the knowledge of Czech as well as foreign authors. I focused on the legal regulation in Great Britain because our lawmakers had taken this regulation into account when they had been preparing the act about Probation and Mediation Service. The main objective of my work is to carry out a survey of the role and activity of Probation and Mediation Service including my own suggestions on how to improve these activities and legal regulation. |
