Description | The study deals with the problem of value and equality in comparative literary studies. The author analyzes several conceptions of how to avoid the injustice when assessing various literary phenomena in different cultural and historical areas, e. g. in the Balkans, in Central Europe etc. Though the author understands the reasons for the principle of area representation, he rejects to apply it in the case of aesthetic value - the aesthetic equality is not valid, each artifact is different and individual, the universal character of aesthetic value is not dependant on the circumstances of its rise though there are barriers of language and culture which are not favourable for minor literatures including some Slavonic ones. |
