| Description | The aim of the paper is to analyse the effectiveness of cultural policy on the municipal level. In so doing, it also discusses the factors determining the formulation of cultural policy on the level of municipality. These are seen in the relevance of the need for cultural services in the population of the municipality, in the understanding of the term public service in culture, in the size of the municipality, and, finally, in the decision making of the municipal councillors. The determining factors of the effectiveness of cultural policy are then seen in sufficient funding for its implementation, in the satisfaction of the population with the offered structure of cultural services, and in regional development resulting from increased income from cultural tourism. The individual determining factors of the effectiveness of cultural policy on the municipal level are illustrated with examples from the city of Brno. |
