| Description | Staphylococcus aureus is a major cause of severe community-acquired and nosocomial infections. Much of the dissimilarity between S. aureus pathogenic strains is dependent on the presence of virulence factors encoded on mobile genetic elements. Major mobile genetic elements are prophages integrated in chromosomes of bacterial strain. Their characterization is necessary to understand of virulence factors and their transmission in bacterial population. The aim of this study was to developed method for rapid and easy characterization of staphylococcus prophages. |
