Description Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an important human pathogen causing various infections up to life-threatening sepsis. MRSA has become a problem worldwide especially in hospitals, where most of strains are multiresistant. There are a lot of plasmid-born genes responsible for antibiotic resistance of strains. There are several mechanisms of plasmids transfer between bacterial cells, the transduction being the most important in staphylococci. The aim of this study was a demonstration of antibiotic resistance plasmid transfer via transducing phages.
