Description | This contribution is devoted to the construction of the verb habere and a perfect participle in several late Latin texts, ranging in date from the sixth to the eighth century. The overall number of such constructions is small and in comparison with classical texts, they do not reach a high degree of grammaticalization. The expressions in question are mostly predicate participles; there are only two cases where the discussed constructions can unambiguously be recognized as periphrases. Some constructions can express an action as well as a state following from the previous action. |
