Description | In the last years, the development of audiovisual technologies has been extremely fast. As a result, they are extensively used not only in security systems, industry of all kinds and show business, but also in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The aim of this paper is to share experience gained during designing and installation of a camera system for audiovisual real-time transmission between operating theatres and classrooms in the 2nd Department of Surgery, Masaryk University and St. Anne's University Hospital (Brno). It is an example of a custom-built system that represents an adequate alternative to standard teleconference devices. We point out some practical problems that can be run up against during creation of similar systems to help avoid them. |
