Description | Here we present the development of a table-top LIBS experimental setup, capable of automatized 2D large-area (cm x cm)surface analysis with high spatial resolution (~100 um)of virtually any solid sample. One of the advantages of this setup is the possibility to analyse samples with rough or rugged surface. The sample are placed to a stage with a high precision (2 um) x, y, z movements. Using advanced image processing algorithms for evaluating the image sharpness the sample is positioned to the focal plane of the focusing optics for the laser. The focusing algorihm can be called for each nth ablation crater. |
