| Description | Together with Předmostí I and Dolní Věstonice I, Pavlov I is one of the three large and complex settlements of the Gravettian in Moravia. The dense archaeological accumulations there result from a variety of activities found in a context (settlement activities, hunting and gathering, lithic transport and processing, processing organic materials, symbolic and ritual activities) and dated within a relatively short time-span of 27-25 ky. As such, the site of Pavlov I is considered as a reference site of the earlier Gravettian - the Pavlovian, in the Lower-Austrian-Moravian-South Polish geomorphological corridor. |
