Description | Volume and quality of regulation are important determinants of competitiveness. Well defined and stable regulating frame and limited government role are the backgrounds of sustainable economic growth in the terms of internal and external balance. The article focuses on exploration of regulation and deregulation in the selected the European Union member states (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia) in the period from 1990 to 2007. It captures the main development trends in this area and targets the volume of regulation as well as its quality. The main goal of this paper is examination the development in the area of regulation in these countries in connection with its impact on competitiveness. |
