• Description: The terminology related with the regional development is explained in the monography beginning. An overview of digital data layers stored in accessible databases and useful for the support of regional development is demonstrated on example of two study areas: City of Brno and Southern-Moravian Region. Finally, the concept of the digital atlas compillation initially supporting the regional development both in the urban area and large administrative unit is presented.
