Description Dendritic cells are higly specialized antigen-presenting cells, which can be used for immunotheraphy trials. Functionally normal DCs play a critical role in the activation and potentiation of tumor antigen-specific responses. The goal of work was analysis of phenotype of DCs and their capability of maturation in monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and multiple myeloma (MM) patients in comparison with healthy control. Under serum free conditions there was no difference in healthy volunteers, MGUS and MM patients, but CD40L stimulation did not lead to the full maturation of DCs. Patients autologous serum had a negative influence on DCs, but it was depending not only on IL-6 level.
