Citation
Description This chapter deals with the problem of elderly education within ageing societies. It is clear that to maintain the elderly at the labour market will be one of decisive factors that can help offset affects of increasing share of the elderly in modern societies. To keep them at the labour market means, however, that they are qualified enough - as it is not often the case, then re-qualification in the courses of adult education seem as the natural solution of the problem. Czech elderly, as our research showed, are not ready yet for massive participation in the courses of lifelong learning. Mere 12 % of the elderly aged 60-65 participated during a year in of the courses of adult education and the same proportion planned to participate in near future.
