Description The paper presents the results of ELSPAC pilot study dealing with the relation of perceived social support to life satisfaction, self-esteem and pesonality in fifteen-year-old adolescents in the context of gender differences. The results show that girls reach evidently higher values in all measured dimensions of social support than boys, namely in frequency, importance, and general social support. The perceived social support is in the positive relation to life satisfaction and self-esteem.
