Description | We usually see trees in forests and parks, trees are growing along roads and pathways. Riparian vegetation is the natural accompaniment of many brooks and rivers and influences bank stability and habitat diversity. Few people know, however, that dead, fallen trees in channels are an integral and very important compound of many brooks and rivers. This essay will refer very briefly to world wide knowledge about the situation of dead wood and woody debris in the Czech Republic. |
