Description | This work reports on the preparation and characterization of polyimide materials based on 1,3- or 1,4-xylylenediamine containing cucurbit[6]uril. Polyimide precursors were synthesized by the combination of xylylenediamines with 4,4-oxydiphthalic anhydride or pyromellitic dianhydride. Cucurbit[6]uril was prepared from glycoluril and paraformaldehyde. Adding of cucurbit[6]uril (0-15 wt.%) into a solution of polyamic acid and heating (finally at 230 C) led to the formation of thin films. Films were characterized by microscopy, IR spectroscopy and thermal analysis. Permeability measurements revealed a linear increase in permeability of the membranes for gases or vapors with an increase in the content of cucurbit[6]uril. |
