Description Cyanobacteria belong to the most important representatives of subaerial synusiae on urban habitats and they caused by their biochemical and biophysical activity phenomenon called biodeterioration of building materials. Because of poor knowledge in phenotypic and genotype diversity, ontogeny and systematics of cyanobacterial biodeteriogens, the concept of that problem is exactly ambiguous. The main aim of that study is research of cyanobacterial diversity and variability in cultures vs. natural population on some isolated cyanobacterial biodeteriogens (Chroococcidiopsis, Leptolyngbya, etc.); and reconstruction of their life cycles in situ. Financial support for this study was provided by the Funding of Ministry of Education of Czech Republic; project No. MSM0021622416.
