Description Chronic mesenteric ischemia is quite a rare gastrointestinal disorder but once clinical symptoms develops the prognosis worsens significantly without therapy. Typical symptoms are characterized by postprandial pain weight loss malabsorption and dyspeptic signs. It is commonly caused by atherosclerotic stenosis or occlusion of mesenteric arteries. This report describes a case of diagnosis and succesful endovascular therapy in a 62 year old women with only one residual and stenotic mesenteric artery. The relief of symptoms and general clinical improvement was gained in a short time after stent implantation. Endovascular treatment is a safe and effective technique for treatment in patients with chronic mesenteric ischemia and due to the minimally invasive approach it becomes the preferred method of therapy nowdays.
