Description | Testicular biopsies of 3 azoospermic men were examined at electron microscopic level to prove if spermatogenesis takes place in seminiferous epithelium. Spermatogenic cells were found in samples of 2 patients, although many of them exhibited morphologic defects. Only sporadic spermatogonia were present in seminiferous epithelium of the 3rd patient. In the last case, there is impossible to obtain any spermatozoa from testicular biopsy for ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) procedure. |
