Description | Cryopreservation of ovarian tissue is a new method to maintain reproductive functions for young women undergoing the chemo- or radiotherapy. The aim of this study is to identify changes in frozen-thawed ovarian tissue in comparison with fresh tissue. Some alterations in structure of primordial and primary follicles were identified at electron microscopic level, the importance of changes ranged from mild to severe damage of both the oocytes and follicle cells. However, also intact follicles were found in frozen-thawed tissue, what is hopeful for future clinical application. |
