Description | Anthroponyms that can be found in 12th and 13th ct. Latin texts bring new information about the way they were used, namely: 1) In the 13th century, names of Proto-Slavonic origin do not prevail anymore, names of other origin being the dominating element. 2) During the period examined, there is an increasing tendency of scriveners to adapt Czech names to the morphological system of Latin (Miroslaus, Pomněnus, Jeníkus; Smilo, Benko), only one fourth of all found Czech names had not been adapted by the end of the 13th century (Baroch, Radost, Protivec, Jezdoň). |
