| Description | In 2004, Vysočina Region, Department of social security and public health in cooperation with Department of education, youth and sport prepared a pilot project named First aid to schools. The main goal of the project is to lead the teaching especially to learning practical skill. The target group were pupils from the 8th year of elementary schools and pupils of the same age from multi-year gymnasia. Our research investigation was aimed to finding of knowledge and skills level in giving first aid among pupils from 8th years of selected elementary schools. Pupils who did not take part in teaching planned in the project showed complete lack of knowledge. However, pupils who completed the first aid course did not proved accurate knowledge by far. Experiences from the research will be applied in creating a new course First aid and put to use in teaching of future schoul teachers in Faculty of Education, Masaryk University. |
