Description | Not only in Czechoslovakia the 1960s brought a remarkable impulse in social and cultural life that influenced as well the Czech philosophical thought. The period was marked by gradual rise of reform Marxism in the systematic philosophy and in the history of philosophy; non-Marxist approaches could be observed in many areas as well. The attempts to re-interpret Czech philosophical tradition and more extended knowledge of recent Western philosophy inspired and enlarged the thematic field of philosophical activities. The objective of the paper is to describe the character and orientation of main polemics and themes typical of Czech thought in 1960s, based on the analysis of philosophical, as well as cultural and cultural-political publications. |
