Description In the past, the relation between literature and fine arts was interpreted in terms of Horaces motto ut pictura poesis. In modern times, the variation of this motto inspired Hubert Kohl to work on the proposition ut pictura poesis non erit by Denis Diderot. This lecture shows by few examples from the art history, that this kind of movement, that we can see in art theory, was present also in common practice a reception of the works of art.
